How To Track Your Site

Establishing a website that you want to make money of is not easy anymore. There are probably so many people trying to do the same exact thing as you which is why you need to beat the competition. Kind of like survival of the fittest. You need to find every single scheme which can help boost your business and sales.
Most people will make a website in the hope of some day making some money from their hard work. So like any business, you need customers otherwise you won’t get any sales. Getting these customers to your website is called SEO but SEO is only for search engines, you can also get traffic from reffering websites and more.
If you want more information on SEO, just pop in ‘SEO’ into the search box above and hopefully you’ll find something that will be useful.
So lets get to the point. The more people there to see your products, obviously then there are more people to buy and then you have more of a chance of making a profit.

Making money from traffic

In my opinion, the best method of monetising your traffic is through advertising. Why? Because every single day of every single week of every single month of every single year there are millions of people searching around for stuff they need or want. The Internet has made the world a very small place… Why? Because you can advertise your website on a Japanese website but still get traffic from California. But how is this related? If you put related advertisements on your website, people will click on them. If people are on your website, they are obviously on it for a reason. about 80% of the time the reason is because they want to be on it. So here’s an example to explain this better:
If you own a beauty blog talking about all sorts of stuff I obviously don’t know about and put up an advertisement about lets say a great moisturizer, people will be interested in it and might click it however if you put up an advertisement about a great new laptop you probably won’t get any clicks since it’s not what your readers are looking for. What I’m trying to say is, if done correctly it could open up a Pandora’s box of possibilities.
When you have a decent amount of traffic there are normally a bunch of potential customers that are willing to pour their money into your coffers, on the other hand your traffic can also be redirected to sponsored links that will pay you for a sizable portion of the traffic you have generated for them. This kind of scheme is called ‘pay-per-click’, someone like Google AdSense. Everything a visitor of yours click one of these links your website will make a little bit of money so obviously the more traffic you have the more people will click on these links which obviously means more profits.

Affiliate programs

Another method of monetising your website would be to become an affiliate. What is an affiliate? You link up with a trusted company who has been tried and tested by other people and place an advertisement on your website about one of their products or services, they then pay you for every customer you refer or something similar.
Basically, visitors from your site will go to another site that can offer a product you don’t have. Most if not all affiliate programs are tracked and monitored so they know exactly how many sales have came from your site.
A word of warning though, don’t try and cheat by following your own affiliate links as they use clever technology that can recognise this and they will immediatly close down your account and you won’t get a penny.
So… How do you monetise your websites?
