7 Tips To Unblock Blocked Sites
You might want to access to Facebook, MySpace, Bebo at you school and office but it's blocked!
This article suggests workarounds to help you gain access to all blocked sites either by your ISPs (Internet Service Providers), schools and office.
Here's are a few ways of gaining access to blocked sites.
1. Using IP Instead of URL
To access to blocked websites, simply type in your IP address in your browser address bar instead of the URL. To find the IP address, open 'cmd', type in 'ping domain' command and hit enter. Alternatively, you can find it online using a free service such as WhatsMyIP.org.
2. Using a proxy website
How a proxy site works? Firstly, it connects users to targeted sites with a different IP address, hence hiding the users' original form from detectable. A proxy website helps users to bypass internet restrictions (such as web filters, firewalls etc) from ISPs, schools and offices to give you freedom online.
There are actually thousands of proxy sites unavailable in the Internet. However, today I am only going to list down three of the famous sites which I usually used.
4. URL Redirection Service
Here's another alternative way to access to blocked sites. Some sites such asTinyURL.com and SnipURL.com provides URL redirection service or also known short URL service. These sites converts them to a shorter URL, hence it might help you bypass the the settings.
5. Read the Web Via Email
Web2Mail.com is a free service which enables you to search the web by email. With this service, you can enter to a blocked site. For example, to search for "MySpace", simply send an email to www@web2mail.com with the subject "www.MySpace.com" in your email message. They uses a popular search engine to perform your search then reply to you with your search results, usually within 5 minutes.
6. Bypass Using Online Translation Tools
This method is very much similar to the web proxy. Online translation services such as Google Translate and Yahoo! BabelFish can do the work for you. Simply enter the URL (website that's blocked) under the 'Translate a Web Page', retranslate it and Google or BabelFish will fetch you the content.
7. Try an Anonymizer
An anonymizer is a tool that attempts to make activity on the Internet untraceable. It accesses the Internet on the user's behalf, protecting personal information by hiding the source computer's identifying information.
There are not many free services provided around but I managed to find one service that is absolutely free!
